About me
Robert J. Orifici is the Executive Director of Benefits and Memorial (BAM) Services Portfolio. In this role, he leads a team of more than 230 government employees and more than 2,800 contractors across seven product lines supporting information technology services provided to the Veterans Benefits Administration, Board of Veterans’ Appeals and National Cemetery Administration. He sets strategic direction, oversees delivery execution, and maintains operations integrity while managing an annual budget of $700 million. In addition, he is co-chair of the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act Section 701(b) Office of Information Technology (OIT) Benefits Systems Modernization Plan. In this role, he oversees the execution of the 5-year plan across seven OIT workstreams and reports to Congress and other Federal Agencies on the progress VA’s benefits OIT modernization efforts.
Mr. Orifici has spent the last 10 years serving in the BAM Portfolio, with oversight of 106 systems that support benefits processing. In previous roles, Mr. Orifici served as BAM Portfolio Director, Product Line Manager for Education Veterans Readiness and Employment, and technical manager leading cross-cutting technology initiatives for the portfolio.
